The author was trying to convey a few main points in the documentary, "Rip! A Remix Manifesto?" the author was trying to say that the past has a lot of influence on the future and modern day. Another point that he is trying to convey is that culture is built off of the past. In my opinion the view that culture is influenced by the past is bias because of the fact that new cultures and ideas spring up, without having any prior influence.
Another example of how bias the authors opinion is, is shown by his use of bathos as a literary device by saying that our future is becoming less free because of the past also the tone being very dark and serious trying to make the viewer upset or intrigued by the apparent lack of freedom in our society.
My essential argument summed up is the creator of this movie is paranoid about copyright laws. my view is that the future being influenced by the past is true, but not to the extent that he is portraying. In my opinion it seems that the majority is more than often not a new idea. That was my analysis of Rip! A Remix Manifesto?
